Hello! I’m Hamp, and I love model trains. My fascination with them began when I was small. Santa Claus brought me a Marx O gauge train set in the very early 70s, when I was around 5. Santa also brought several buildings from the “Wild West” era, with several “Cowboys and Indians” to do battle in my small imaginary town. The Indians would attack the cowboys, while the cowboys hid in the gondola and surrounding buildings. The train would go round, and round, and round, as the Indians attacked it. When my youngest son was still a child, I purchased a Bachmann HO set for him, and we would play with it for hours. Then, a few years ago I got interested in American Flyer trains by Gilbert. The Gilbert company built American Flyer trains back in the 40s fifties and 60s. Most of mine or of the 40s and 50s vintage. I’ve really enjoyed working with these trains because S scale he is a bit smaller than O scale, but larger than HO. Big enough to read the lettering on the side, but small enough to run more trains, haha!
I’m still somewhat new to web design, so you will see some changes over time as I set this site up to my satisfaction. Feel free to let me know what you think, and enjoy your time visiting here! I look forward to sharing my hobby with others, and I hope you learn a little about S Scale trains!
